I'm Steph Howe and I'm mad about photography! I live in a beautiful part of Aberdeenshire surrounded by open views and a great variety of nature, which is a constant source of inspiration to me. I have also been lucky enough to photograph some amazing places: Singapore, New Zealand and Canada, but Scotland and Aberdeenshire are my first love.

 

I became increasingly interested in photography when my partner bought 'us' an SLR (single-lens reflex) camera. It didn't take long before I started to choose this camera over our more than adequate digital camera. I began experimenting with the various settings and making more of an effort to get that perfect picture. I have now taken hundreds of shots with it from landscapes and nature through to portraits and events.

I fell into taking photographs at birthday parties as my children were always at them! I would take my camera and click my way through the whole party. When the hosts were busy organising everything I was there to take natural pictures of the children, no matter how much they were running around! I enjoy photographing all sorts of events now, from Burn's Suppers to Afternoon Teas.


I am now living back in my old house that I grew up in from the age of 11; my children have the bedroom that belonged to my brother and I! As well as photography, I have worked at the wonderful Drumtochty Castle since 2004. I like to keep fit and enjoy Zumba, Ball, Circuits, Combat and tennis but I'm also partial to a warm chocolate fudge cake with ice-cream; our booking a restaurant is dependant on it being on the menu!
